TOO FACED AMAZING FACE FOUNDATION REVIEW

Too Faced Amazing Face Oil Free Foundation $36 - Ulta

On a recent haul at Ulta (which I have yet to post), I purchased this foundation because my foundation collection has finally been depleted and I was reduced to mixing what was left of three different foundations just to get the right shade.  Sadly, as a makeup junkie I owned over 10 different foundations at one time and promised myself that I would use all of that up before buying more WHICH I have now officially done.  So when it came time to buy foundation I was at a loss because there I didn't know where to begin.

Upon arrival at my Ulta store, I immediately worked my way toward the Urban Decay section because I thought I would purchase the Urban Decay NAKED foundation.  But when I tested it on my hand, it wasn't the texture I was looking for.  Don't get me wrong, it's probably fantastic but based on the texture which was too thin and almost watery for me, I decided to move on.

My next stop was Tarte because I have a friend who uses the Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Full Coverage Foundation.  I tested this on my hand as well and it just was a weird texture and I didn't care for the coverage.  It was almost too thick for what I wanted.

Finally, I approached the Too Faced Section and I tried the Amazing Face foundation on my hand....LOVE.  It was creamy but not oily, the coverage was perfect and buildable, and it didn't have a fragrance which I HATE in a foundation.  My skin issues include: fine lines, aging skin, uneven color and texture, and oiliness.  Here are the claims from the Ulta website:

Description
Our oil free, skin-smoothing liquid foundation provides the illusion of airbrushed skin in seconds. Complexion concerns disappear as the weightless, silky formula glides on skin delivering undetectable coverage, with luxurious skincare benefits. You will always be ready for your close up! Erase Imperfections: Created with our advanced Light Refraction Technology that visibly reduces the appearance of pores and fine lines by diffusing and reflecting light. Wrinkle Relaxing: Bio Transformed Botanicals soften and relax the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles. Close-Up Coverage: Real Skin Technology allows for ¿close up¿ perfection. Weightless in finish and feeling, foundation coverage adjusts to skins¿ ever changing needs. Skin Balancing: Natural Bark Extract absorbs excess oil while keeping skin hydrated and fresh. Multi Mineral Complex, Vitamins A, C & E, and botanical extracts promote healthy, glowing skin.
I've been using it for over a week now and I can honestly say these claims are accurate.  I am absolutely in LOVE with this foundation and it is well worth the $36 price tag.

Here is a chart of shades for your reference:

I HIGHLY recommend that you always swatch shades and test formulas on your hand before you buy, but the cool think with Ulta is that they'll take it back if you absolutely hate it.

Christmas Nails

I was bored...so I decided to get my nails ready for Christmas.  I created this look using Ivanka (Green) and Reva (Red) from Zoya, a random white that I had laying around, Orly Bonder Basecoat, Orly Instant Artist silver glitter, and Seche Vite for top coat. First I cleaned and filed my nails then applied Orly Bonder Basecoat.  Next, I applied the red and green alternatively across all my fingers.  Once that dried, I used the "random white" on the tips only followed by the Orly Instant Artist silver glitter to blend the color with the white.  Finally I topped it all off with Seche Vite THE ONLY TOP COAT ON THE PLANET WORTH TALKING ABOUT....EVER!  Be creative and come up with your own designs!  I can assure you, I will probably be changing this before the end of next week.  :-)

Zoya Reva $8
Zoya Ivanka $8

Orly Bonder $5.99

Orly Instant Artist Silver Glitter $6

Seche Vite Top Coat $9.99

MAC Haul

During my recent MAC shopping venture, I decided to focus on things that I REALLY needed and less on things that looked fun and different.  I stayed away from the Limited Edition collections because it's really easy to get sucked in and if you're shopping on a budget it's better to get the staples and save the extras for when you have a little extra cash.  So this time I picked up a well rounded variety of essentials; some of which were repurchases and some were totally new to me.

The Eyeshadows:  $11.50 (Pan) $15.00 (Compact)

Shadowy Lady

Satin Taupe

Shroom

These shadows have been on my wishlist because they are great basic shades that are great for a variety of looks.  Shadowy Lady is great for creating a smoky plum eye look and Shroom is an amazing highlight color.

Studio Finish Concealer - $17.00

NW30

NW30
I've been in need of a new face concealer and this one came highly recommended.  I really liked the texture when I swatched it and the price was nice too.

Fluidline - $15.00

Waveline

I already own a couple of the fluidline eyeliners but I REALLY wanted this blue.  I love to create smoky blue eyes and this really helps blend and smoke out my favorite blue eyeshadow, Contrast.

Paint Pot - $17.50

Painterly

I wanted a good eyeshadow base and this was very close to my skin tone.  It is NOT a primer, but it does help eyeshadow adhere to the lid and makes the shadow more intense.

False Lashes Extreme Black - $19.00

Again, never tried this before but I've heard about it from other beauty bloggers so I decided to give it a shot.  ALREADY loving this formula!

Brow Pencil - $15.00

Lingering
THIS is my repurchase.  I think this is the 9th or 10th one I've bought.  It's the ONLY eyebrow pencil for me.  The formula is great, it lasts a long time and it doesn't melt off in the heat.  THE BEST!

Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation - $33.00

No. 2
This foundation is the third MAC foundation I've tried and I'm hoping that this is THE ONE.  Many of MACs foundations leave a dry, chalky appearance on my skin and one formula changes color on me.  I'll keep you posted on the results.
