Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eyeliner Review and Swatches

I realized after I posted my review on the DiorShow Extase mascara that I hadn't done a review on my collection of Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eyeliner Pencils.  I'm not sure that I would actually call my 5 pencils a "collection" but hey, someone once told me that more than one was a "collection"...so I'll run with it!  ;-)

First lets talk about the pencils in general and the range that Urban Decay offers.  Here's what Urban Decay says about them:

Creamy, forever-lasting, award-winning and waterproof, 24/7 pencils delight you with lush tropical hues, deep metallics, and unusually vibrant neutrals.
The best Eye Pencil ever, ever, ever! Never before has a pencil this creamy and brilliant been waterproof, too. Velvety-soft, this never-before-seen formula stays soft and creamy for blending (about 30 seconds), then dries down to a long-lasting finish that WILL NOT budge. Line eyes with a hint of color or go for the full artistic, multi-hued effect with the wide selection of lush tropical hues, deep metallics and unusually vibrant neutrals. Incredible with Urban Decay Eyeshadows! .
Created with 50% moisturizing ingredients suspended in a sophisticated waterproof formula, 24/7 Eye Pencils offer long-lasting color and a dreamy, creamy feel when applied. With Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E and Cottonseed Oil.
Now, the range (LOVE!):

1999

Binge

Bourbon

Perversion

Woodstock

Covet

Crash

Demolition

Deviant

El Dorado

Electric

Flipside

Graffiti

Gunmetal

Lucky

Lust

Mildew

Oil Slick

Ransom

Rockstar

Stash

Underground

Yeyo

Zero

There are two main things that I love about these pencils; the texture and the color payoff.  As I said before I own five:

Technically one of the pencils was from my Naked Palette but as you can see it's well loved.  The colors I own are (from left to right above): Electric, Zero, Ransom, Bourbon, Whiskey/Zero.  I wear at least one of these liners every day and I have 3 more on order from Urban Decay: El Dorado, Demolition, and Mildew.  I swatched the ones I own so you can get an idea:

On a scale of 1 to 10 I give these pencils a 10/10...they truly don't get much better than this!

DiorShow Extase Review

I have always been a fan of the DiorShow line of mascaras; most of them anyway.  I recently purchased the DiorShow Extase mascara and I can honestly say I was underwhelmed.  I'm not sure I'd even be that nice...I was downright disappointed!  What I love about the original formula is missing from this hyped up "conditioning" mascara.  I have to be honest and say that I missed the part where it said "wear it alone or pair it with your favorite Dior mascaras".  That should have been my first clue.  BUT STILL, it says I SHOULD be able to wear it alone and I just don't like it.  I find that my lashes become hard and prickly looking instead of thick and lush.  Furthermore, the color is blah; not the intense black I love from Dior.  Finally, it actually seemed to make my lashes fall out!  I'm not sure if it's because the formula becomes hard on my lashes or if it's because it's so difficult to REMOVE from my lashes.  The ONLY thing I liked about this product is the brush.  I think this brush, with the original formula would be a slam dunk.

So, my overall thoughts on this product are PASS and I'd rate it a 2/10.

Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Nylon Lash Extension System

Available exclusively at Sephora.com $35.00

I just ordered this Too Faced Better Than False Lashes lash extension kit.  This is new and exclusive at Sephora, so when I saw an opportunity to have false lashes without the drama of actually APPLYING false lashes...I was totally game.

The look of false lashes has never been easier or more affordable with this do-it-yourself system that's an alternative to messy false lashes and expensive lash extensions. The activating mascara base and top coat is designed specifically to melt and seal the Flexistretch nylon fibers into long, thick, dramatic lashes without the risk, mess, or commitment of other false lash alternatives. Unlike traditional fiber mascaras, Better Than False Lashes allows you to dial up the lengthening fibers so you easily get better, longer, thicker, more dramatic lashes instantly. -- Sephora.com
